SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Ideal candidate

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics
Minimum 5 years experience in accounting of inventories and fixed assets
Functional & Technical competencies related to: Cost accounting, Financial data analysis, Reporting skills, Organizational skills
Someone who can “read” a Trial Balance and can understand how the ledger accounts are working (especially those related to production/inventories, fixed assets)
Previous experience in the manufacturing environment is a plus
Self-starter with the potential to come up with improvement ideas and simplify working processes

Job description

Job summary:
We are looking for an experienced “Senior accountant” to oversee accounting operations related to production & inventories, fixed assets and inventory items. The senior accountant will focus on reconciling account balances, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures.

Responsibilities:

Fixed assets and CAPEX:

  • Books the invoices related to fixed assets, inventory items and allocates new inventory numbers in the register
  • Ensures the approval flow meeting CAPEX plan by verifying the supporting documentation
  • Provides guidance on CAPEX requests or to resolve inquiries from other departments
  • Maintain GL for Asset Additions – Transfers – Retirements
  • Reconcile GL Fixed Asset accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensures the completion of Put-Into-Function reports for new investments
  • Gathers all investment proposals, requests approval for each one of them and follows-up the completion within the approved budget
  • Prepares the tax and group assets register and depreciation calculations on a monthly basis
  • Performs monthly Capex reconciliations and maintains the CAPEX file and reports it to the Group
  • Monitoring the compliance with Grants’ procedures and documentations and liaison with external consultants
  • Responsible for centralizing the complete documentation of the fixed assets annual count

Monthly closing and reporting:

  • Act as a back-up for the preparation of the monthly mandatory tax declarations and statements
  • Act as a back-up for the preparation of statistical reports, Intrastat or statements for the National Bank and other institutions
  • Reviews and adapts the chart of accounts in order to respond to the needs of the financial and accounting department

Inventories and accounting of production:

  • Reconciling all inventory accounts (30x-38x, 39x) at the period end
  • Analyzing the aging of inventories and proposing adjustment allowances
  • Monthly checking of the automatic accounting notes posted in SAP by production (consumptions 60x), but also related to reception of goods and sales/discharge (331, 345, 711);
  • Understand very well the function of the accounts 711, 348 and ensures the monthly posting of the cost differences
